Question for the very few that might actually look at this . . .

What is a friend?

Take a second, and please leave it as a comment, if you don't mind.

Perspective . . .

Tonight . . . my brother Jake and I . . . almost died! Yeah . . . Jake was with me in the pearl and we were going to pick up my motorcycle. We were making a left at the intersection on a green light. We were carrying on in good conversation. Enjoying the ride. Suddenly in my rearview mirror on the passenger side, I saw a minivan - Jake saw it too - come dangerously close to smashing me and then swerve recklessly to the side of the road, only to come to a complete stop. Both Jake and I looked at each other in amazement of what had just happened. Neither of us knew where this van came from at first, but quickly concluded that the driver of the van had just run a red light and only realized it just as he was about to hit my truck! Luckily for us his reaction time was better than his attention to minor details...specifically red lights! The incident instantly brought into perspective how quick a serious accident can occur. I guess I could bring up the old adage - in a blink of an eye! The crazy thing . . . not that this is anything new . . . but I had zero control over whether or not that accident occurred. It scares me. I have never been in any accidents to date. I have always felt that I was a good enough driver to avoid making any serious mistakes and good enough to compensate for the mistakes of other people. However, in this case, had this guy not been able to react to his own stupid mistake, the lights may have been out. And, neither myself or Jake would have even known it happened until we woke up in some hospital bed. Freaky! I know. I am wondering on the side of paranoia now. I just hope I never get so careless in my driving that such a mistake as running a red light on a busy interchange happens to me.

The taste of blood

It is said that the taste of blood is irresistible to vampires. Goodness, the thought of Edward and Bella just went through my head! Not a good thing. Why could it not have been Blade! Now I feel like less of a man. Sad. Anyway, that very weakness is what makes them what they are. They need blood to live. And seem to stop at nothing to get it. Well friends and family, I must admit that I . . . have tasted blood. Yes . . . once again I have been allowed to ride my motorcycle. It has been many months, and perhaps I had forgotten the feeling or taste if you will, of being on a bike in great weather in southern Utah. Even so much that I have contemplated selling the bike. But alas, such a thought will not enter my brain again.  I have tasted the blood. I have ridden the bike. And it seems that it is something I need. Something that I will not be able to live without. Right now, my bike is hurting. One of the gears is partly broken.  To fix it would cost $600.00. Outrageous! But . . . is it not worth it? Is it not like water is to man? or Cocaine to the addict? It seems like a no brainer to me. But, I have never been one to give into weaknesses or thirst. But, is the thirst too strong?

A jump to remember . . .

I am not so sure this was the smartest thing to do, but sometimes the best thing to do, is not always the smart thing to do . . .

. . . And, I am sure glad I did it.

Here are some still shots of the jump . . . Fun stuff.

The start . . .

I am beginning to blog . . . I guess this is what you are supposed to do these days, as if Facebook weren't enough. So, let it be what it is . . .
